Pinterest is an online pinboard where you share and organize stuffs you like. Pin it to win it: It’s a social photo sharing network where you share photos you like, give comments to photos and repin an image. It’s a social network that connects people across the globe through the things they find interesting. It’s been a huge and faster growing social network.  It’s mostly popular among women. That’s why I’m naming it “The hottest social network”. Pinterest has grasped a place in the top 10 most popular social networks in just 2years of its debut. This fact itself signifies how attractive this network is.
On its home page there is an option called “Request an invite”. You just have to click on it and give your mail id. Then a confirmation kind of message will be shown saying that they will send you an invite as soon as they can.
How to Pin on Pinterest: After you request them to join they send you a conformation email saying “You are in”. They welcome you and say thanks for joining. Now the next stage begins. The must do stuff: You have to install “Pin it” button to your book mark. There are several procedures to install the button. For chrome you just need to go to: “http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/” and then drag the “Pin it” button to your bookmark bar. In these simple steps your installation just gets completed. After installation you can pin images from any websites to your pin boards. When you pin from a site, Pinterest automatically grasp the source link so they can credit the original creator.

1.     The “Pinning” begins right from your browser:Now you just need to click the “Pin it” button when you want to pin something you really like. You can pin images from various sites like,

·         The common way: When you are viewing the image then just click on the “Pin it” button and then, a new window opens that redirects you to Pinterest and then follow the path given below.

-> click on “Pin This” (On the image) –> A new window opens that redirects you to Pinterest -> Select a category -> You can create a new one of your choice -> Add description -> click on “Pin it” just below the description -> Then a “success” message is shown.
·         Facebook: But you just can’t pin any image directly from Facebook. You need to open the image you want to pin in a new tab to pin it. The path is as follows,

Right click on the image -> Open image in new tab -> click on “Pin it” button -> click on “Pin This” (On the image) –> A new window opens that redirects you to Pinterest -> Select a category -> You can create a new one of your choice -> Add description ->click on “Pin it” just below the description -> Then a “success” message is shown

This is how your Facebook image is get pinned to Pinterest. You can see your pin over there.

·         Twitter:There is no need to open images in a new tab. You can directly click on the “Pin it” button on the bookmark page. Then then the rest are quite same as the “common way”.

3.     Another smart way - “Pin it” button for your websites:
You can add a “Pin it” button to your website to allow your user to pin your products onto Pinterest.  Use the above methods to customize your “Pin it” button. This “Pin it” button’s look & function are same as Facebook and twitter. Put them together for more social awareness. One can also have multiple “Pin it” buttons. Make sure they are properly arranged near your products.
